Fly-by Question

Bush nominated Peter Pace to be the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff back on April 22, 2005. Richard Myers is still doing the briefings at the Pentagon. I can't seem to find how long a process it is to become Joint Chief Chairman, but it seems realllllly long. Myers looks like he just can't wait to stop doing this.
