Colorado Governor's Debate, Live and Uncensored

Just now, televised live, broadcast on local tv and CSPAN, Bob Beauprez was asked: Do you favor employment non-discrimination for being homosexual? Bob: I think we already have a law for that, so no: it would be duplicitous. (pausing long enough for the cricket chirps) The American Heritage Dictionary defines duplicitous as: Given to or marked by deliberate deceptiveness in behavior or speech. Someone bold, someone who doesn't care if they're wrong, that's what we need for a Governor. As a sidebar, this debate is a national joke. Channel 9, the sponsor, is one of the most respected news outlets in the country. But they won't shut up the audience, so everyone wolf-whistles after answers. They should shut up the audience or not call it a debate. Yes, I know it's picky, but I'm bitchy tonight.

Heh.

The Fat Lady Ain't Singing...

Further proof that we should all leave the Kool-Aid alone. In the world of politics, 8 days is a long flippin' time. From Colorado Pols there is a new poll showing the Musgrave/Paccione race up for Paccione. I'm a poll whore, and usually get them from Kos. But this just shows that in spite of the truckloads of money Musgrave and the republicans have thrown at this race from day one, the people are seeing the pony in the pile of shit. Here's hoping.

Back in Business

It's been almost six months to the day since I posted on this blog. A few people, believe it or not, have emailed to ask where I am. It's nice to know there are at least 3 people who read this blog. I have been reading whatever isn't tied down, and when I read State of War several months ago, I got frankly freaked out. But it's occurred to me that if the government was interested in shutting down blogs, they'd start with the big kids first. So. The reading list is long and varied. Some were especially good. The list is probably too long to list them all. Anyway, it's good to be back just in time to watch the republicans cannibalize themselves. No drinking the Kool-Aid before the election, anyone. We have to all keep our head in the game. Here's to the game. ::clink:::
